Caring for Cameras
At Flashback Cameras, we put real time and care into sourcing and testing every camera before it reaches you. Each one has been handled, checked, and sent on its way in the best condition we can achieve — but like anything pre-loved, a little ongoing care goes a long way.
Every camera we sell carries a history. Small signs of a past life — light marks on the body, a worn grip, the odd scuff on the lens barrel — are part of what makes each one unique. These are not faults. They're character.
Due to the nature of pre-owned electronics, please bear in mind that each camera is individual and may show minor cosmetic signs of previous use. These are assessed and noted by us before sale and do not affect the camera's function.
Minor cosmetic imperfections may include:
- Light scratches or scuffs on the camera body
- Wear to the grip or rubber trim
- Small marks on the lens barrel (not affecting image quality)
- Slight fading to labels or printed text
- Minor wear to the screen surround
To keep your camera in great condition:
- Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth to wipe the body and screen regularly
- Clean the lens gently with a lens-safe cloth or blower brush — never use household tissues or sprays
- Avoid leaving your camera in direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can affect the screen and battery life
- Keep it in a pouch or case when not in use to protect against knocks and dust
- Remove the battery if storing for a long period to prevent leakage
Please note — we recommend fully charging your battery before first use. Batteries in pre-owned cameras may have reduced capacity over time; replacement batteries are widely available and inexpensive.
